A Texas Ranch Wedding

Pierce's sister and brother-in-law celebrated their one-year anniversary with a wedding celebration at their family Ranch in Texas last weekend. They did the official ceremony last year via Zoom with only a few family members and decided to do the official "celebration" this May.
This is the "fourth" Riddick wedding in the books. All of our days have been the most gorgeous weather days, and this one was no exception. It had poured and stormed the night before, and on Saturday it was high 70s, low 80s, with a slight breeze, and just perfect for a sunny wedding in Texas.
Last year, it was the same story, with the rain clearing up just in time for the afternoon ceremony. Jessy and Logan made it down to Nashville and Pierce's parents made it up to Nashville, and we pulled off a virtual wedding in Kelsea and Jon's new backyard with even their pastor on Zoom.
It was sweet and quaint and personal and just what they wanted for that time. With a few dining room chairs in the backyard and a beautiful bouquet that Kelsea's friend put together, it made for the sweetest afternoon. 💐 Pierce and I loved being a part and felt so blessed to be there.
We also loved having Logan and Jessy in town for a few days too!! They are some of our sweetest friends.
So much so that we could only laugh when we showed up at the airport in Dallas this year wearing literally almost the same outfit! Hahaha...we laughed with matching purses and drinks, and loved getting to travel with some of our best friends. (Logan, Pierce's brother, started dating Jessy, one of my sweet friends from camp, the same summer Pierce and I started dating....we got engaged a month a part and married three and five months later, and we have loved having each other as we joined the Riddick Family...it was an answer to prayer we didn't even know to pray!) ☺️
Pierce and I had grabbed some airport food and we settled in for a long night of storms and delays...We have come to expect it, but we loved being able to be with our friends on our layover!
We finally made it on the plane and picked the back so we could be together...✈️
We played Monopoly on Logan's iPad as we passed it through the seats 😂😂😂...made the delay on the plane go by a little faster that's for sure! We made it into the Ranch around 1:00am and were excited to get some sleep for the fun day ahead!
The girls had a bridal luncheon, which was so sweet and fun, and the boys played music, shot clay pigeons and grilled hotdogs and burgers - a typical day on the Ranch.
They came in to get cleaned up, and I had to snap this sweet picture of our favorite brothers.
Then Pierce and I snapped this classic Ranch picture before we went down for the real pictures...the one mirror upstairs sitting against the wall to get ready with, a crooked lamp in the background plugged into the only working outlet, wooden walls and a fan for when the air conditioning doesn't work, but two people who feel blessed to be at their family's ranch. Pierce's grandfather bought the ranch as dairy farm in the 60s, and it has come to be a beloved place for the Riddicks to be for holidays, family gatherings, and now weddings. ☺️
The big oak tree outside the house was the absolute perfect spot for a wedding ceremony and the yard next door held the sweetest celebration.
I loved getting to spend the day with my husband.
He snapped a few pictures with me...and we were loving his matching tie that a sweet friend had let us borrow for the weekend!
And then we spent the rest of the evening dancing the night away, visiting with his family and celebrating Kelsea and Jon. It was such a sweet weekend, and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more for the first weekend of summer. We made it home in time to soak up the end of Memorial Day weekend in Nashville and look forward to all that's in store for this summer!

Thanks for following along in all of our journeys to Texas and fun little snapshots that has made up our 2021 so far...and Happy One Year Anniversary to Kelsea and Jon! We loved celebrating last weekend!
We'll post more soon!
Love y'all!
