Well, my friends, we are back from the beach and let me tell you - we truly had the best time. It was our first little trip with just the four of us, and we loved it. We celebrated Pierce's birthday, Mother's Day, and my birthday, and just this sweet season with Jane and Andy, and even though we had a little rain here and there, we just soaked it up!! I know we will always look back on this trip with the sweetest of memories... Today I just have a little Frame This Moment that I truly do want to frame...

Well, this picture kind of happened by accident, but it is truly one of my most favorite pictures of the four of us... I had told them what I really wanted for my birthday was a picture on the beach with our family, which we did snag one of us in our rain coats enjoying the sunset after a day of beach showers on my actual birthday, but the next night, this picture just so happened to be the best little birthday gift...
I first tried to snag a picture of their sweet little growing selves looking out over the water. They played HARD here at the beach, so as calm as this picture looks, it took some finagling to get them both here and still long enough to snap this hahahah but I still love it so much!
Then Jane and Daddy wanted one...which I feel like she will treasure forever. This girl LOVES her daddy, and I couldn't love watching it more...
Andy wanted in on the action, and before you know it, we have this precious Daddy picture... As I was taking it, a family walked by and said I needed to go over there and they would get one of all of us, which I hadn't even thought of (shocking because I love pictures so much hahaha)
Which leads us here... Just my favorite favorite little snapshot. We don't know what the Lord has in store for our family in the future, and it's always been our hearts' desire for more littles, but my goodness, this season with these two, I know I will treasure this picture forever. As in every season, there is a hard, but there is a whole lot of good and this trip was just SUCH a special time to soak in that joy. On the way home, Pierce and I jotted down a little "Remember Letter" on our phones because we just didn't want to forget all the little things that made this trip and this season so special.
I will be back next week with a whole lot more snapshots and memories from our trip, but today, this felt like the perfect moment to frame from the beach. We hit the ground running when we got back and this week has been a mixture of new *summer* routines, cleaning out the kids' closets, planting our flower beds, and about 93 loads of laundry 😉 We finished up our small group for the year, enjoyed my favorite end of the ministry year luncheon, cheered my tutoring students on through finals, and now we are packing up our bags again today to head to Louisville for the long weekend!
I say this every year, but we joke that the Riddicks thrive in January and summer, and I'm here to say, it just still feels very much accurate hahhaa both are just good little resets for us, and we are all already in SUMMER mode and couldn't love it more! ☀️🥰🍉
I'll plan to be back here next week!!
Sending lots of love!!
