Just a little life lately for the Riddicks...
Our life lately has mainly consisted of so much joy from some of our best friends visiting this past weekend. Caroline and I have been friends almost 10 years now. We lived together for 3 years in college, and when I say live together, I mean literally in a 10x10 shared room...and we truly loved every minute of it. We reminisce often on our Chi O and college days...We traveled the world together twice, once to the Middle East and once to China. We look back and often wonder how we both convinced our parents to go out of the country for two weeks TWICE within six months...but we are so grateful for all the Lord taught us on those trips. We've led about a million D Nows together, watched about a million episodes of Jon and Kate Plus 8 together, and celebrated both of our weddings together...
We've walked through life change and hard seasons and good seasons and the beginning of growing families...It is truly a gift for me to be friends with Caroline. She is almost the exact opposite of me, and when we say the Lord knew what He was doing putting us together at Samford, He really did. She has taught me so much, and she always says the same... We are grateful for the true gift of friendship. And I'm secretly hoping and praying that one day she will blog with me so that you will get to have a glimpse into her life as I have had these past 10 years. Trust me when I say, it's a blessing!
After they got in and put Asher to bed, we couldn't think of a better way to spend the next four hours catching up than Chick-fil-A, fries and milkshakes. Pierce and I always joke that the one to two times we get to spend a year catching up with them are our favorites nights of the year. 😂☺️
We loved waking up to this cutie in our house and Pierce loved being able to show him the ropes on his piano!
And then we enjoyed a cozy rainy Saturday morning with a homemade breakfast feast. It was truly one of our very favorite mornings...
Having Caroline, Kyle and Asher in town was truly like balm for our souls. We laughed, we reminisced, we talked about fun things and hard things and good things. We are so grateful to the Lord for friends like The Sullivans and for experiencing sweet community even through 24 hour visits.
When I met Caroline, she was dating Kyle, so I literally haven't ever known Caroline without Kyle, and they are the best packaged deal. Add on their little Asher and you have just joy in the best way. So, needless to say, we were thrilled when they decided to come visit Nashville for the weekend.
We had missed Asher's birthday a few weeks ago, so we decorated our kitchen for a belated celebration and had a little gift and card ready to go!After they got in and put Asher to bed, we couldn't think of a better way to spend the next four hours catching up than Chick-fil-A, fries and milkshakes. Cozied up with tea and coffee while Asher napped just chatting and enjoying the sweet fellowship together...we were so grateful to have them in our home.
We got ready to spend some time in Nashville, and I snuck a pic with the birthday boy. 🥰💙
We enjoyed some time at the park, a good long walk, some amazing Pharmacy Burger, and of course the classic Nashville sign.
We had to share the little joys of our life lately!
We'll post more soon!
