April 5th 💕

Happy TUESDAY!! Goodness, it's been a busy and FUN last few weeks over here. We've celebrated a third birthday for Jane, the end of a chapter for Pierce, enjoyed a week of Pierce off work, taken a little fun road-trip, worked on our yard, had a birthday party for Jane, hosted small group, had family in town, and now are figuring out new rhythms with a new job in our midst. We've loved all of the family time though and it's been sweet to celebrate the big things in the middle of enjoying all of the little things too. 

Today I thought it would be fun to share a few pictures from Jane's actual birthday. It fell on a Saturday this year, which is so much fun, and originally we had planned to invite a few friends and family over that morning to celebrate with her, but with the crazy weather and tornadoes and flooding all week and more coming on Saturday, we decided to postpone it a week, and we are so glad we did. We got to enjoy a sweet little family day on her actual birthday and then had the best time and continuing the celebration all week and then a sweet little party on the 12th. I have lots to share from the week, but today, here are just a few snapshots from her day turning 3!! 

It was a rainy day, but we tried to make the house as bright and happy as we could for her birthday!! 

We knew she would be getting a lot of things over the next few days/week, so we let her open a few that morning, and she was SO very excited about her new watch. She has been noticing everyonnnne's watches that they've been wearing and asking for her very own, so this was definitely a sweet addition haha 

And then I invested in a little spring playdoh kit for her because I knew she would LOVE it, and it has been the biggest hit at our house. I think she has played with it for many more hours than I had even imagined haha she is a creative little one, and this was right up her alley. 

After a little while, we got ready (she picked out her dress that she wanted to wear)...

And made our way to our very favorite bagel shop!! 

I brought sprinkles to put in her cream cheese, which made her free birthday bagel just a little more fun 😉🥰

After that and before the storms came, we took her on a special little errand for her to pick out a new pair of "pink shoes." I had gotten her some water shoes last summer and she found them about a month ago and has been stuffing her little toes in there any chance she has gotten... I was late to ordering a new pair for her birthday, so we made it a birthday trip... 

And she was VERY excited to have a "new pair of pink shoes." Goodness...someone pinch me. HOW is she growing up SO fast?!?! 

We came home and this little one helped me make a vanilla cake that Audrey and I had been wanting to try for so long. (And by helping, I mean she mainly played with her playdoh and came over when the batter was done 😉😂)

I loved having my little sidekick next to me though! 

We baked the cake, took some naps, iced it and added some sprinkles...

Then lit her candles and sang... 

And wondered how she became big enough to blow out her own candles... 

It was truly the sweetest little family day and we LOVED getting to celebrate our sweet Jane Arbel Riddick. She is one of a kind, and we are so thankful for three years of her in our family. April 5th will always be a very special day!!! Thanks for following along in this little journey. I'll plan to see you back here tomorrow with a little more from our last week!!
