Happy Wednesday!! Today I thought I could share a few pictures from our little trip to Chattanooga last week! Pierce had a few days off of work, and we decided to soak up a little family time outside of Nashville.
Pierce and I had been to Chattanooga a few times together...
Once in 2019 for a tiny little fall getaway...
And once in 2021 when I was pregnant with Jane... It's only about a 2 hour drive, so it's a great little city to just drive and explore.
We had never been to the Aquarium though, so we packed up the kids Monday morning and made our way over to Chattanooga for a little afternoon trip to the aquarium.
Jane's our little one who is a little more apprehensive when it comes to animals, but she was a great sport and really seemed to like seeing all of the different fish and animals.
And she loved the little interactive parts as well!
This was such a pretty tank that we all loved!
So pretty!!
We spent some time in their Butterfly Garden, which was so sweet.
I feel like I remember "Butterfly Gardens" when I was a little one, so it was sweet getting to show Jane all the beautiful ones that were flying around!
Then we made our way to the "Ocean Side," and Andy wanted to start exploring too!!
The was one of our favorites too!! From the sharks to the sea turtle, we could have watched this one forever.
But Jane had really been looking forward to seeing the penguins, so this was a highlight for sure!!
One jumped in the water to come "say hi," which as you can imagine was so fun...
And Jane is still telling everyone about it hahaha
Andy had to get out to see them up close!
And Mom and Dad were enjoying themselves too!
These jellyfish were just too cool!!!
And this little one was having the time of his life exploring and seeing all of the different coral reef exhibits.
And then checked into our first hotel as a family of four! We had looked at getting a little cabin for a night or two, but with all of the storms and flooding, this hotel for a night was perfect.
We watched a little of the National Championship before bed, and as you can imagine, the "mini-fridge" in the room might have been more exciting than anything we had seen all day hahaha
Goodness, love this little fam so much and am thankful for days and nights that look totally different than our rhythms and routines at home! Chaos is sweet with the right perspective 😉❤️
The next morning we were up and at'em and decided to make our way to one of our very favorite breakfast places.
A favorite on little getaways for us is being able to walk to breakfast/get coffee and tea...
This little Milk and Honey in Chattanooga is just our very favorite spot, and we loved our breakfast here so much!! We sat outside, had the sweetest waitress, and just enjoyed the morning so much!
We made our way back across the bridge...
With a little napping Andy...
And made our way to the Creative Discovery Museum...
This was such a sweet place that Jane (and Andy!) really loved. Pierce played with Jane way up there...
While Andy and I had the best time down by the water tables and people watching..
Sheesh I love this little boy!!!
This place was so big with SO many exhibits, but I am telling you, this little girl would have been happy right here all day with her glue sticks, paper and markers. Our creative little one for sure!!!
We had to take a picture of the quilt making for Nana!!!
But this outside treehouse was definitely the biggest hit!
And incredibly high ropes that Mama was *hoping* were still strong even after a gazillion people have walked over them hahaha
We really had the best time!!
We loved watching Andy come alive...
And being big kids ourselves!
And loved that at the end of the day when we let Jane pick something out in the gift shop that would "remind her of Chattanooga," she landed on a water cup even out of a million toys... Everyone that knows her is not surprised by this at all hahaha
Loved our time away with our kiddos and even though this Chattanooga trip sure looked different than the last few, we love the memories that it held!
Just a few snapshots of our little getaway from this past week! Thanks for following along in this journey of ours!! I'll plan to see you back here tomorrow!
Sending lots of love!
