Happy, happy Tuesday!!! Well, this weekend we had the best time in Louisville with my sweet parents. Jane (and Andy now too!) just LOVE it up there, and this weekend, we ventured to the KY State Fair, which was one for the books for sure. I thought today I'd share just a few snapshots from our day!!
We loved spending the day with Nana and Papa!!
Traffic was a bit crazy and long getting in to park, but this sure made Andy's day as we were walking in! SO huge...
These two little cuties sure LOVED hanging with their grandparents all day...
And I loved getting in another fair day with this one!!
As we were venturing outside to the rides, we walked through the animals, which one of our littles didn't love 😉 and the other was all-in hahaha
This little one was just tall enough to ride some rides, and I couldn't decide if she felt big or little to me... But she LOVED it...
Sheesh, such a fun little ride!
But this one was definitely a FAVORITE that day!!
She waited in line with Daddy a long time for this one... And REALLY wanted to ride in the pink, purple, and blue one, which as you can imagine was a hot commodity...
They ended up 1st in line though as kiddos were getting on, so she had her choice, which was just a fun cherry on top!
Love this sweet one! As we were walking by later, she saw another little girl in the pink helicopter and said, "I'm so glad another friend gets to ride in my pink helicopter too!" Hahaha A little girls' favorite for sure...
And this sweet little one was living the true life of a little brother...
He wanted to ride SO badly...and I know will be counting down till he's big enough hahaha
He did get to ride the carousel though with Nana and Papa, which was just the biggest treat!
These two were two peas-in-a-pod all day!
This little one's list of people he "trusts" is very short, but I dare say Papa might just be first on that list now hahaha
He adores him and LOVED the day with him! The best little snapshot!!!
And a little ode to Papa too with a UPS plane flying right over the fair... A special little moment for sure as my dad flew for them for 30 years and now is watching them take off with grandchildren in tow! We sure are thankful!!
Jane got to ride one more "little ferris wheel" that she had been looking forward to...
And then Mommy, Daddy, and Nana hopped on one!!
Nine summers after our first date, and maybe our first fair ride together?! Hahaha A fun one for sure!
I always love getting to see the park or the fair from the top of the swings!
Then Nana talked Papa into going on the boat swing with her... A pilot who hates fair rides and all things with heights involved and a creative artist who loves them!!! The kids loved watching them!!
We had a few extra tickets and an extra spot in their row, so I hopped on board... And I will say it was much faster and much higher than I imagined it to be hahaha But a fun ride for sure!
We walked around inside, and one of my earliest memories of the KY State Fair is looking at all of the quilts with Mom, so of course we had to stroll through the aisles with her...
And it didn't take Jane and me long to find the Christmas quilts 😉
She keeps asking me when it's time for Christmas Village, and I keep beaming with joy hahaha 🎄🎄🎄
Then we ventured to another early, early memory of mine with "Safety Town" put on by the Louisville Police Department, filled with roadway signs, stop lights, stop signs, and "lessons of the road."
Sweet Jane was the tiniest by far, but they let her ride with the big kids, and she loved it.
Daddy helped her a little because she couldn't quite reach the pedals, but it feels like just yesterday I was out there cautiously stopping at every red light and stop sign they held up...
She earned her driver's license at the end, which of course was a special treat!
Andy got to hop in a police helicopter with Papa...
Right before he passed out on Daddy's shoulder from all the fun from the day 😉
And continued his nap while Jane got to ride with Papa and Nana and recounted her day to them (which included a lot of fun, but also two people dressed up as animals on stilts, which if you know Jane, was a terrifying site and included lots of follow up questions after an almost-encounter with them hahaha)
But goodness, Kentucky State Fair, you sure were a fun one!! We loved our day and although we will try to beat traffic somehow next year, we wouldn't trade the fun we had!!
Thanks for following along in this little journey! It's been such a full-to-the-brim summer, and we've loved all of the adventures!!
I'm going to take tomorrow off of blogging, but I'll plan to see you back here Thursday for another Frame This Moment Day!!
