Three Things - Fall 2026 Edition

Happy Wednesday!!! Hope everyone is having such a great October week!! Today I thought I would do a little "Three Things" post with three little random updates for the four of us...just a little look at some Riddick tidbits for your morning!

Starting with Little Andy...
1. Well, for starters, you will hardly ever find this little one without a ball in his hands. Basketball, baseball, football, soccer, tennis, golf, ping pong, you name it, he loves it. It's been fun to watch and goodness he is starting to actually hit some balls/make some baskets, and we all love cheering him on!

2. This little one still LOVES to read. At night, you will almost always find him with a stack of books that he is just flipping through. It always makes my heart swell anytime I see him just soaking up a book. I will hear him start to "read" them sometimes by saying, "Where is..." (Basically, how he interprets reading any page haha)

3. His vocabulary is picking. up. steam., and we are all here for it hahaha sometimes Jane will look up after he says something and say, "Can you believe he just said ...." hahhaa He sure took his time warming up to talking, but we all couldn't love hearing his little voice now!

For Jane...
1. Jane can pretty much be summed up in one word right now - "crafts." Hahaha she is ALWAYS doing some sort of craft, art, creative endeavor. Pierce told me I should do a blog post entitled living with a creator and post the hundreds of pictures I have of craft supplies, paper, you name it scattered about everywhere and anywhere haha She has a creative little spirit, and we love watching it come to life.

2. This little one is also starting to love numbers, which, as you can imagine, makes my heart just so full hahaha I will hear her in the backseat sometimes just say something randomly like, "What is 3 nines put together?" Hahaha she loves chatting with a few of my tutoring students when they come over and always tells them that she likes "doing math" too 😉

3. Jane is our giver... Every time someone comes in the door or we go see or just happened to mention, she immediately has a card, a drawing, a craft that she made for that person. Our sweet neighbors have many a cards from Jane that she will leave on their front porch or in their mailbox just because she "made it for them." Haha A sweet friend sent me a voice memo recently for Jane and told her, "Thank you so much for blessing me with your art," and I'm not sure I've seen a bigger smile on her face. The Lord definitely gave her a creative spirit, and it's been sweet to watch her "bless others" with it.

For Pierce...
1. Well, Pierce got himself a new grill at the end of summer, and my goodness have we used that thing quite a bit the past few months. From grilled chicken (enough for 15-20 people every other Sunday for small group), to steak and salmon, and bacon and pancakes, we have put it to the test and have loved everything he has made. The kids love playing in the yard while he uses his "new grill" as Andy calls it, and it has blessed our dinners in more ways than one!

2. Pierce is wearing a lot of leadership hats in this current season and has been doing such a great job stewarding them and balancing them. We all love cheering him on in this busy, but full season!

3. Chess. Pierce is loving himself some chess recently. You won't find him on any social media, but if you're ever up for a game of chess, that is the app he is on haha I have a feeling we need to invest in a chess board around here because I'm sure he will be trying to teach Jane and Andy coming up soon haha

And for Tab...
1. Well, this week marks 20 weeks with Baby #3, and I truly cannot believe we are almost half way. How are we already here?! I am trying hard to enjoy this season, with two littles at home, jeans that no longer fit 😉, and a whole list of to-dos for our house and home that 20 weeks seems a little impossible to complete haha but the Lord is teaching me a whole lot about contentment, a whole lot about being grateful for what we have and where we are, and a whole lot about who He is as the foundation of it all.

2. I have always *tried* to stay a little active during my pregnancies (you can find a fun walking goal and post here when I was expecting Andy), but this pregnancy, I have found Nourish Move Love, and it has totally helped shape and impact my pregnancy this time around. I love her encouragement, I love her workouts, and I've felt stronger and had more energy the days I've put in the 20 minutes during nap or play. I'm not sure how it took me this long to find her, but incase you are looking for some encouragement in staying active (even outside of pregnancy), she's been a blessing to me the past few months!

3. Well, every year I *semi* make a goal to read the number of books as the year we're in (so, 26 this year), and honestly, I'm not sure I have actually hit it the past several years. So far this year, I think I'm on book 15, but seeing that we're in October, we'll see how many more I finish this year between all of the end of year things and holidays and celebrations, but if you have any pure-hearted, simple and sweet books 😉 that you just love, please send them my way!!!

And there is just a little assortment of things for each of us this October! Thanks as always for following along and here's to enjoying the little things, celebrating the big things, and soaking in all the moments in-between!!

I'll plan to see you back here tomorrow!
Sending lots of love!
