Happy, happy Thursday!! I thought today for our "Frame this Moment," I would share some snapshots from our beach trip in September. We had the best week with family soaking in the salty air and sunshine and the kids are already asking when we are going back haha here are a few snapshots from the week!!
September was a busy month for these four, but I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else!!
For this trip, we are going back to two days before we left (the day after our AC unit was changed mind you haha) when our car started giving us a warning we had never seen before. And right before a 10 hour car ride, we decided it was probably best not to drive with a possible engine overheating... So, we called our local car rental places and snagged the only thing that was available that day - a Honda Odyssey. We were so thankful that we were able to still make our Saturday morning road trip, the kids were VERY excited about sliding doors, we dropped our car off in the shop for the week, and tried to make the most of a pretty chaotic week on all accounts haha
The next day, ten hours after we left Nashville, we were pulling up to this, and my was it all worth it!!
The kids were VERY excited to see Nana and Papa!!
The sunset was beautiful, the sand was soft, the water was warm, and the clothes stayed dried for approximately three minutes hahaha
Just such a beautiful first night!!
The next morning, we were up bright and early...
And ready to PLAY! Hahaha
These littles were so excited to be back at the beach!!
Just picking up right back where he left off haha
Loved hanging with these three that morning.
And watching this one just jump right in with all of the building.
That night the sunset was another beautiful one!!
And slept HARD every night haha he was VERY excited to sleep on the trundle next to Jane's bed, and it was fun watching them soak up another beach trip shared room!
The next day, he was up bright and early with Mom and Dad...
But we were loving the early morning snuggles...
My sweet sister and her husband and their little one had gotten in the night before, and we loved having three on the beach for a bit that morning...
These two had gotten goggles from the gift shop and were VERY excited to wear them in the pool. The pool was such a hit that whole week. It's where Jane started "swimming" last year a little, and this year, she was impressing us all with how far she had come.
We headed back down of course for the sunset that night...and I love the heart shape that the sun was making that night.
These two must have been remembering last beach trip because they did this unprompted haha
I of course tried to catch few silhouette pictures and just love this one of Jane playing while Pierce is throwing Andy...
And this one of the roles reversed too!
They sure do love following their Daddy!
And Andy was soaking in all of the Nana and Papa time he could!!
Including being thrown by Papa!!
The next morning, we all took a little road trip over to the bay side!
These two had gone the day before and said the kids would love the shallow water...
And boy were they right!!
It was like a little beach and ocean just for them, and they were soaking it all in haha
The wind was perfect for flying our kite! 🪁
I grabbed a picture with them and Daddy!
And then individuals were requested 😉
Cuties.
I got one with little Janie.
And with my little buddy too!!! 💙
And we managed to snag one little family picture before we headed home! ❤️
After rest time, they wanted to go back to the bay side to play before dinner, so we took some toys...
...a ball...
And some goggles and enjoyed some sun and water for a bit that night!
And managed to snag one more family picture that became a favorite for me... these two littles. They sure are growing fast!!
Audrey and Matt were headed out for a date night that night, so we grabbed a little fam picture with the BEST news of a new little baby boy cousin coming early spring!!! 😍
The next morning, started off my favorite way.
We love getting to see the sunrise on the bay side in the mornings and the sunset over the water in the evenings. If only every day began and ended this way, right?! Haha
We had a little visitor join us...
And a second little one...
Who brought his tennis racket out and one for Daddy too haha
Wearing footballs, playing tennis, talking about soccer...it's always something with this little one haha
That morning, we were off on a new-to-us adventure down there and were headed on a little boat ride!
We "set sail" with everyone on board, but sweet little Noah wasn't loving the water/boat/noise, so they took him back for his morning nap and we headed out to try to make it to the "cape."
And this little kid just climbed right up on the seat, and the next thing we knew, he was out hahaha
They felt right at home next to Nana out on the water!
One napped hard and the other semi-napped 😉
We made it and loved exploring such an empty, but beautiful beach!
The kids played and explored a bit and this little one loved having a matching hat with Papa!
And Jane loved exploring with Nana!
We were thankful for these two showing us their fun spot!!!
Had a bit of a picnic lunch...
Then headed back and it was time for round 2 of naps hahaha looks like we may need to make boat rides a more regular part of our days somehow haha
That night, we snapped a few pics (little Noah was already out for the night!)
But goodness, I love this little one!!
Andy got a little picture with Papa...Papa won him over last summer on the beach, and they've been besties every since haha
We got a few pics celebrating little Baby #3 🥰💕💙
And a few pics with this little fam that I just love so, so much.
Loved taking one with my sweet Mama in her very favorite place!!
And with these two too!!
I tried to soak in these two littles that last night...
And boy do I love doing it with this guy!!
That night we had a fire on the beach, and goodness was it the perfect way to end the week.
We woke up that next morning, said goodbye to the beautiful water, and made our way back to Nashville.
It sure was a special week, and one that we are so grateful for in the midst of a crazy September for us. The beach has always been a place that we just love, one that we loved getting married on and almost eight years later, it was sure special being back there with two littles (and a little third one on the way), loving some of the fresh, salty air, and just soaking up the sunshine. We pray we are back many more times, but loved all that this week held.
If you want to take a look at years past, you can find our trip in May with just the four of us here, 2025 here, 2024 here, 2023 here, and 2022 here.
Thanks for following along as always! And here's to enjoying the little things, celebrating the big things, and soaking in all the moments in-between!
Sending lots of love on this Thursday!
