We love the start of a new year. The freshness, the fun, the new beginnings...
To celebrate the New Years this year, we were actually in Jackson, WY with Pierce's family.
We hit the slopes for a day and had so much fun. I found out Pierce is actually a pro-snowboarder...and he was very patient with me as it had been a while since I had been snowboarding...
We had so much fun spending the day together though and loved being able to see the snow-covered town from the top of the mountain.
Two of our favorites (Pierce's brother and sister-in-law) were there with us, killing it as they learned how to ski! We might be joining them next time... haha
Then we had another full day of adventure as we went Snowmobiling for the first time.
The sights and backgrounds were truly incredible as we were flying through and over the Winter Wonderland.
We had such a blast with the Riddicks bringing in the New Year in style :)
It's a trip we won't soon forget and loved that our new year started off with adventure and memories.
The way our New Year usually starts, is our annual tradition of goal setting and dream making at Frothy Monkey. When we were dating, we went one year on January 2nd, and it was such an impactful day that we have gone back every year since.
It's such a sweet time to talk about our past year, look toward the new year, thank the Lord for his blessings, pray for our new goals and hopes and dreams, and submit it all to the Lord.
In 2018, we went and wrote on a napkin because we were just on a little "coffee date..." I still have the napkin because it was such a special day of thinking and dreaming.
Thankful to be back to bring in 2021...
2020...a year and three months into marriage not knowing all that the next year hold...
2019...three months into marriage, Pierce half way through school and us living the sweet life.
And 2018...where the tradition was born and where Pierce wrote my name on his goals with a heart next to it, not knowing that in five months we would be engaged and in ten, we'd be married ❤️
We soon after that put away Christmas...one of my least favorite days, but also somehow always a tad refreshed with the clean new start it gives our house for the year.
Another tradition we have in January is we always do a little cleanse to reset our bodies. This was the fourth January, and we just eliminate grains, sugars, and starchy vegetables to help our immune systems and digestion.
I did this on a little more intense level in 2018 and it completely changed my health and body and it's always a great reset to do it again. We try to do it from January 1st to Valentine's Day :) This was just one of our amazing dinners that Pierce cooked for us...we try to have lots of fruits, vegetables, and clean meals. I have so many recipes to share if you're ever doing a cleanse and need some amazing dinners!
January meant a new semester in school for me too...my desk the day I got back from Christmas break. A clean slate for the first day back.
We just absolutely LOVE our trainer Liz and truly love Monday, Wednesday, Fridays because it means we get a great workout, get to spend time together in the car, and and are up with our day started by 6:30. It's a sacrifice, but one we love! We knew we had to start 2021 off to a great start!
On Tuesday and Thursday, you can usually find us here in the morning. This is something new we've been trying this year, and we've loved it. I have to be at school at 7:30, so this usually means we are up around 6 and Pierce makes coffee and tea while I make the bed/start getting ready. We meet here and read and talk and pray and then break and usually don't stop until after school, work, and tutoring. This is definitely a necessary time for us in the morning and so sweet that we get to do it together these days.

To end our January favorites, we are currently trying to take care of two Audrey Ficus plants. Pierce got them for me for Christmas, and we can't wait to watch them grow, hopefully!!
Just a little recap and look into our life in January. There's so much more, but those are a few highlights. Hope it's sweet getting a little update...I always love to hear other people's routines, goals, and little snapshots of life, so feel free to share! We are always looking for fun new blessings.
We'll post again soon!
Love y'all!
