Life Lately [3.15.21]

Life lately for the Riddicks....
We had one of our best friends get married this past weekend, so we loved getting to head back to Texas and support her for the weekend.

From having a half day at school before Spring Break to Pierce taking a half day and finishing packing us while I was at school, it was a whirlwind of a morning. Then our parking shuttle was stuck in traffic, we were nervous we might miss our flight, and Pierce was waiting to hear about an interview... The Lord opened all of the doors though as we were getting to the airport, through security, a good-news phone call for Pierce, and an on-time boarding for the Riddicks, we were so happy to be on the plane.

We had tried to reserve a rental car, but all of the companies had no cars available online... When we got to Houston, we thought we would try one last time. They had a Toyota Tacoma available, and we were thrilled to be able to rent a truck we knew all too well for the weekend.

We raced to the hotel to change and got to ride with the bride and groom to the most romantic and quaint rehearsal dinner.

Tiny Boxwoods in Houston... There were too many amazing plants and flowers to look at before and after dinner.

We realized that we had missed so greatly sitting around a table talking with friends. It felt like we were in a Hallmark movie, and we loved every minute of celebrating the bride and groom that night.

The next morning, my husband wins the MVP for helping us get up, get ready, and also packed all before 10am. He grabbed us Starbucks, put up with my warm curling iron that we couldn't pack, and carried all of our luggage so I wouldn't "wrinkle" my dress. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
It felt so fun to be in nice clothes again for the first time in a while!

The ceremony was at a Chapel that was simply beautiful. The Chapel in the Woods. It was just family and a few friends, and the small and intimate nature of the ceremony was so sweet and led to many tears as we celebrated the Collier Family.

We love Anne and Colin and were so blessed to be a small part of their day! From the arbor to the flowers and Anne's dress, it was all just beautiful!

I love getting to go to weddings with Pierce...it's such a sweet and gentle reminder to us of October 27th, 2018 and how sweet vows just truly are. ❤️

After the wedding, we got to celebrate with just the best lunch. It was some of the best food, the sweetest people, and a great celebration of Anne and Colin.

After lunch, we had to race back through Houston to drop our rental car off in time. We felt like we were waiting for our private jet in our nice clothes...but were really just waiting for the rental car shuttle...haha 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

I just love this man and loved having him in a suit for an afternoon. ❤️

We've never been more dressed up in an airport... 😂

Changed in the bathroom and ready for our delayed flight layover...we were so thankful to make it back to Nashville around midnight that night and be home for the start of Spring Break.

We feel blessed to have been able to spend the weekend with Anne and Colin. We love praying for and cheering on sweet friends at the beginning of their marriages.

We're not sure where this Spring Break will take us...maybe Chattanooga or possibly Louisville, but on this Monday morning, we worked out and then took advantage of no school after with some amazing biscuits and gravy and tea and coffee.
Spring Break 2021, we are ready for you!
We'll post more soon!
Love y'all!
