Summer of Letter Fun ☀️🍉💦 [Part 3]

Happy Wednesday!!! Well, we LOVED celebrating the first day of FALL on Monday!!! And I know this season is full of pumpkins, cozy blankets, hot tea, and the perfect weather, but I have one last summer post to officially wrap up our "Summer of Letter Fun," along with a few things that I want to remember about the summer too. It was a really sweet one, and I realized that the part of me that loves "completing things" would hate to leave the last three off our list here in these posts. You can find the original post here, along with part one and part two, and here is part three!
We have loved this little list so much! And we deemed Saturday a "family day" and a "creative Saturday" to finish the last few before fall!
Well, first up. Oobleck. I had heard so much about it, but had never tried it with the kids. It's just cornstarch and water mixed together, and I used this "recipe" to try it.
They were VERY excited to see what it would become that morning haha
And it kept us entertained for longer than I thought that morning. The consistency was crazy and honestly, addicting if I do say so myself haha the craziest blend between solid and liquid... A fun one that I probably wouldn't have tried had it not been on our list!!

And Q-Tip painting. Our beloved artist was SO excited for this one. She paints and draws all the time, but there was something special about this being on our list that made it extra fun.
To make it a little extra special too, we ended up using a little kit that a friend gave to Jane when Andy was born. She put together a little care package for Jane with "activities" and this was one that I had stored away.
And she LOVED it!!!
She may come alive the most when she's swinging and swimming, but she's the most focused when she's painting and drawing, that's for sure!!
A fun afternoon!!

And a little Scavenger Hunt to end all of the things... We weren't sure how we wanted to go about doing it, but we landed on a little neighborhood scavenger hunt, and it was perfect.
Jane loved spotting the things on the list...
And our sweet neighbor was so excited too and was taking Jane to show her the "fire hydrant" when I snapped this hahaha so sweet, goodness.
A job well down and the last star sticker on our summer list!
It was so sweet seeing them get so excited to "check" these off the last few months!
Goodness, another "summer" in the books. We are still enjoying the sunshine, warm weather, and lots of "summer play," but as the official title wraps up, I thought I'd just write down a few of the top things I want to remember. There are so many that come to mind, but these are the first ones that did.

Things I want to remember about this summer:

Andy turning 1.

Andy learning to walk.

Jane starting to swim.

Jane learning how to swing.

Outings and adventures being FUN with both littles this summer.

Entering the fort building age.

Our trip to the beach.

Andy starting to LOVE doggies.

Andy warming up BIG TIME to Nana and Papa.

Our fair trips! Both were SO fun.

Jane just LOVING drawing, painting, and pretty much anything artistic.

Hanging out with sweet friends from church.

Reading six sweet fiction beach reads.

Starting to play "Wordle" and the "Mini Crossword" every night with Pierce.

ALL the sunshine and time outside.

Our Farmer's Market trips.

Jane overcoming her fear of the carousel.

Watching Jane and Andy really start to become friends and play in her room after rest time in the afternoons.

It was sure a good one. Yes, there were hard days. Yes, there were about a million things that didn't go "according to plan." Yes, there were days that everyone was not at their best. Yes, there were nights we didn't sleep. Yes, there were meltdowns, hard lessons, and lots of prayers for wisdom on raising these two littles. But goodness, in the midst of all of that, there was a lot of fun. A lot of joy. A lot of memories made and snapshots taken. A lot of milestones and a lot of really sweet family time, and that, I do not take for granted. I am thankful to the Lord for this season, for these three people that I love so very much, and for the many blessings that oftentimes come in the form of very "ordinary" things.

Thanks for following along in this "summer season" and in this little list that proved to be such a fun highlight for us this year. I pray your summer was full of blessings too, even in the hard. As always, here's to enjoying the little things, celebrating the big things, and soaking in all the moments in-between. Happy end of "summer" and beginning of "fall!"

I'll plan to see you back here tomorrow!
Sending lots of love!
