Summer of Letter Fun ☀️🍉💦 [Part 2]

Happy Wednesday!!! Well, I know we are almost all in "fall-mode," but I wanted to finish up the second part to our little Summer of Letter Fun over here before fall officially is here on the calendar. This started as a sweet text from a friend in a different state who asked if we wanted to join them in creating a few "Alphabet Activities" for the summer. We brainstormed some fun ideas, I didn't have a poster board so grabbed a big sticky note leftover from teaching, and we created a fun list that made our summer just a little sweeter! We have loved working our way through these this summer. You can find the first post here and Part 1 of recapping here
Here we are off to Part 2! A little disclaimer here... We had four left and changed one to fit our season a little better (under the stars sitting) and plan to do the other three this weekend with a little "creative" Saturday. Then we are off to officially welcome in fall with a new little list of fall family fun for our refrigerator!

This is a favorite for Jane, and it's truly a favorite for Pierce (and me too). It's just a special little thing that they started doing when Andy was a newborn, and it's become a favorite little tradition for them both. I love when I get little pictures like this (especially her little "Super Star" ice water hahaha), and Andy loves the mornings when he gets to join too. A favorite this summer for sure!!

Well, I always imagined we would take a blanket and eat lunch in our front yard like we love to do in the fall, but this summer was a HOT one, so one Saturday we gathered around a picnic table at the Farmer's Market and all talked about how it was like a picnic lunch (with some fresh homemade donuts of course!)
And then we took our favorite cooler and some lunch to a park nearby and had our actual picnic lunch... We may not have been on a picnic blanket, but it was sure a sweet day!!!
A favorite from the summer!!

Well, I suppose these are all favorite memories from the summer because this one is FOR SURE one too. Daddy came home from work one Friday afternoon, and we all deemed it fort making night, and it's still one of our most talked about weekends hahaha
It was a special one.

Well, this one was on our list for so long, and I think we always just thought it would be such a simple one to do with chalk on our driveway. We had talked about it, and one day our sweet neighbors had made a hopscotch course by their house, and we were all in haha It took a few times through to get the hang of it, but I think Andy might have liked trying the most hahaha

We love books over here, and this was a fun Sunday after church visit to grab some sweet new books for our bookshelf!!
Everyone got to grab a new book and Daddy found a marble game that has been a big summer hit haha

We got to do a little Nature Walk at Nana and Papa's house, which was a favorite this summer.
It took me back to my teaching days, and I loved it!!

This was sure the sweetest morning! Andy was just learning how to stand on his own and take a step or two, and we couldn't believe he picked it up so quickly in picking them, putting them in his bucket, and eating them too hahaha
It was a sweet morning this summer for sure - you can read a little bit more about it here on a Frame This Moment post.

This is always a favorite of our summer and we loved this third annual 5k!! Pushing a double stroller up hills is not for the faint of heart haha You can read more about the race here

This one we used what we had and made it work with a little slide into a baby pool, which the kids LOVED and it was perfect for the summer.
This little one loves the water maybe more than anyone I know haha
And we loved having some friends over one morning to enjoy it too!!!

We had high hopes of cooking someone a big meal this summer, but we took a dozen of our favorite sourdough bagels to my sweet sister and and her husband when we met their little Noah, along with dinner and a few snacks, and what a treat it was to meet Baby Noah!

Well, this one we have changed a bit to fit more our season haha We sat and watched the sunsets many a night at the beach, but another favorite at the beach was sitting under the clouds trying to find “animal clouds.” I will be driving and just hear, "Mommy, do you see any animal clouds." It makes me smile every time. Under the "clouds" sitting, you were a fun one!!

A forever favorite of our summer. We love the Farmer's Market, we love being out in the sunshine on a Saturday morning, we love supporting local farmers, we love the produce and the veggies and the milk. Add in the donuts and the amazing new carousel, it's a Riddick fam favorite for sure! You can read about our morning there here and Jane's sweet little firs carousel ride here

We washed the car at Papa and Nana's house in-between lots of pool time, scootering, and tractor rides, but goodness, it sure felt good to have a clean car!!

This was a fun one this summer - we added a swing set and Italy lights to our backyard, and we LOVED our summer mornings and evenings out there!
It has come along way the past few years, and we've loved all of our yard days throughout the different seasons. I wrote a little bit more about it here.

This was a fun one because we went with two of the sweetest friends from church.
Lots of strollers, lots of snacks, lots of littles and lots of memories!!

Well, and there you have it! An almost completed Summer of Letter Fun!!! It really has been a FUN summer, one that we are SO very grateful for. We are off to hopefully make a little Oobleck, paint with some q-tips and do a little scavenger hunt of sorts, and then we will be ringing fall in!! And we can't wait!!!

Thanks for following along in this little summer journey. Each season has so many little things to offer, and it's been an unexpected blessing to mark off some of our favorite "little things" with these kiddos this summer. Here's to enjoying those little things, celebrating the big things, and soaking in the moments in-between.

Sending lots of love!!
