Aww Happy Friday and Happy Thanksgiving!!! I love a good themed Friday Favorites post, so I thought I'd make today all about Thanksgiving!! A little walk down memory lane, some very Thanksgiving favorites, and some sweet snapshots too. We are headed to Texas in a few days to spend some time with Pierce's family, but this time of year always makes me remember growing up and sheesh, I love a good Thanksgiving morning. The smells, the parade, the being "off school," the amazing food, time with family, football, and the Christmas season right after...it's all the best in my mind... Here are just a few little favorites though for your Friday!!
I felt like this was the perfect picture to kick off Thanksgiving - the pumpkins, the "turkey" turned butterfly by Miss Jane, the turkey clip in her hair... it's all just so fun and so fall...
It takes me back to last year when we first started our "Thankfulness Turkey."
And to her very first Thanksgiving, where she was dressed as the cutest little turkey without a smile to be found hahaha
But speaking of first Thanksgivings... A little trip back to 2018 for mine and Pierce's first Thanksgiving. We had just gotten married about three weeks before, and I remember buying our flights with my "new name," and then having to quickly get my new ID issued before we traveled... We thought it was an amazing idea, but what we didn't know is that Tennessee issues a "paper ID" until they send you your real one, and who knew that traveling through airports around Thanksgiving with a "paper ID" wasn't an ideal situation hahaha but we made it, and love looking back on that first one!
We've had many more since... Some in Louisville...
...and some in family-made matching t-shirts with his family...
We had a few with just little Jane...
And last year added little Andy too!! The very best!!
The food at Thanksgiving will forever be a favorite...especially my Mom's amazing meal...
One Thanksgiving a few years ago, I sat in the kitchen while she made all of the dishes and took notes on exactly what she was doing for each one...
And for Christmas that year, I turned those recipes on paper into a little book for us to always have... Why I didn't make 20 copies to have and "publish" I'm not quite sure hahaha But Pierce and I have started taking a recipe or two down to Texas each year and have slowly started integrating her dishes into his family's as well hahaha
But speaking of Texas...it's always fun to get to see our little cousins that all meet up there for the week.
Jane and Lucy are two besties...
And have been since the start hahaha
And just a few fun snapshots that make me smile from past Thanksgivings...Jane and Daddy explored a bit at my parents' house, and I love this pic from last year...
And this one too!!
We love fires at Papa and Nana's!
And our very favorite song that we love having on our November playlist...
And finally, our very favorite Thanksgiving video from Jane last year... We watch this thing on repeat and for some reason it makes us smile every time... I'm not sure if it's her voice or her smile at the end, the way she's standing or her being all bundled up, but it's just pure gold to us, and had to share to say, "Happy Thanksgiving." 🥰
I hope everyone has the very best week and a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am going to take next week off of blogging, but I'll plan to see you back here the week after to welcome in December and all the Christmas fun!! Thanks Erika and Andrea for a fun blog link-up today! And thank you for following along in this journey of ours...it's a blessing to me, and I am very thankful for YOU!!
Happy Thanksgiving Week!!!!
Sending lots of love!!!
