Happy 2026!!!

A new year!!!! 2026!!! My goodness, how are we here?! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break and a great start to January so far!! 

These two Riddick ladies made it through a terrible stomach bug that swept through the night before Christmas Eve for Jane and Christmas night for me... So we got to enjoy the two most special days, but we sure are thankful to be feeling better and are loving the sunshine on these January days!! 

Pierce is back to work as of yesterday, Jane starts back at her preschool on Thursday, we are six days into our favorite "January cleanse," and I somehow tricked myself into trying another mile a day in January goal, so we are in full swing over here. I always say the Riddicks thrive in January and summer, and goodness, do I really think that is true. We love this month. The freshness, the coziness, the restart and continuation of rhythms and routines, the sweetness of Christmas just having been here and the spring and summer on the horizon, with hopefully some snow mixed in... I'll always take a January, and we are trying hard to make the most of it. 

I am taking the rest of this week to continue to reset and get our rhythms and routines sorted out a little more... Life after Christmas always brings with it so many things, but I'm pressing into the fresh new energy that comes along with it, and am getting my prayer journal reset, our home tidied and cleaned up, brainstorming a few hope-tos for the month and year, and taking care of all the family things that come along with jumping back into "life" after a break. 

I'll plan to be back here next week though, and I have lots of thoughts, ideas, and things that I think would be fun to share, but I thought I'd leave a place for you to share some ideas too if any come to mind! This little space has become a favorite of mine, and it's been a blessing to me over the past almost five years!! If you have any thoughts, ideas, comments or suggestions, feel free to leave them below or you can always send me a message too. Meeting so many new friends and connecting with sweet friends and family has been one of my favorite blessings from this little space, and I am so grateful that you choose to follow along!
