My Favorite Way to Cut Watermelon 🍉

Happy LAST day of June!!! How did this month just FLY by?! I thought the perfect post to end the month was a little post on our summer's favorite fruit. A few summers ago, I was trying to think of a way to cut a watermelon without getting the amazingly sweet pink part on our cutting board (because way too often it was tasting like way too many other veggies...), and after some trial and error, I landed here, and I've never looked back...

Now, this way is definitely not a new invention, but it's simple, it makes it into the perfect bite sized pieces, it's quick, and like I said, it definitely keeps that "pure" watermelon flavor that we all love. So, in case you are looking for a new way to cut it, here's what I've found...
I cut the watermelon in half and then cut one half in half...
Then I cut that half into a half... (to make fourths)
And take my knife and just cut "slices" down to the rind on of those fourths.
It will look like this...
Then I turn it, and cut "slices" on the other side...
You have it looking like this...
And then lastly, I turn it one more time and cut the final side...
This will be your result...
You can see from the top that there are lots of little cubes...
Just for reference, I showed the pieces...
But I put them all into a little bowl... (Or a big bowl)
And then the pieces that are still in there, I take a smaller knife and cut all the way around close to the rind...
And you have this at the end...
I just continue with all the fourths, and it couldn't be simpler!
I had little helpers anxiously waiting for their favorite afternoon snack...
We are big fans!!

And there you have it, just a simple little post on my favorite way to cut a watermelon. Is this the way you do it too?! I'd love to hear! And hopefully maybe this will help inspire a new way to if you're looking to mix it up this summer as well!!

Thanks for following along! Happy LAST day of June!! 🍉
Sending lots of love!
