Frame This Moment - The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Beautiful Butterfly

Happy Thursday!!! The best day of the week!! A fun Thursday, a Frame This Moment Day, and a very hungry caterpillar and butterfly for you...  

Goodness, these sweet two littles... Earlier this year, we had seen a brother sister duo of the caterpillar and butterfly from our favorite "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" book, and Jane was hooked. She was SO excited to make some butterfly wings, and let me tell you, this little artist did SUCH a good job. I wrote and shared a little more about it here, but we had so much fun painting these wings and watching this little costume duo come to life...

I found Pierce and myself some matching shirts for all of the fruit and the "Saturday" food, bought little Andy a green t-shirt and some green felt that I cut and safety-pinned on, Jane helped me with the hats, and when we added her little purple and yellow, it all came together for a night hahaha 

The CUTEST little caterpillar hahahah once we distracted him while we put the hat on, I think he forgot the rest of the night and left it on as he ran around haha 

And truly the most beautiful little butterfly... We had tried on her costume a few days before and I snapped a picture of her on our porch. I don't think she will ever get tired of wearing these little wings!! She really did work so hard on them, and they turned out so great. 

We snapped a few more pictures before we hung out with friends in our cul-de-sac, and they all just make me smile! 

I love these two. My mom was the BEST at working on our costumes growing up, and although it doesn't come as naturally for me, it's fun to try my hand at it every now and again! 

We had the best little time that night though!! 

And goodness, what a foreshadowing night day Pierce and I had back in 2020 at an art museum in town admiring Eric Carle's amazing work! 

And here we are doubled in size with our own little caterpillar and butterfly in tow hahaha 

Life has moved fast since that first little October with Jane as our "pumpkin pie spice" to our classic salt and pepper costumes Pierce and I made while we were dating... 🧂🎃
