DC Trip 2026

Happy Tuesday, my friends! We were thankful for a little weekend at home this past week to regroup a bit on life and home and yard and laundry haha It was a great little weekend, but today I thought I'd share a few pics from the weekend before when we took a little trip to visit family in DC.
We had been trying to make it up to DC to visit Logan and Jessy and their two littles and see their new house, and this weekend was a little third times a charm kind of visit! I knew Jessy from camp before we were were dating these brothers, and it's crazy to think back on us started to date within a few weeks of each other, engaged within a month of each, married within three months, and now have two littles just a few months (and days) apart. It's a sweet story, and we are thankful for that first summer of dates now almost 10 years ago!
We were all packed up and waiting for the bus after we dropped our car off!
Andy was *very* excited about the bus!!
And it was Jane's little doll's 'first airplane trip' 😉☺️
His drawing pad was a hit this time around - and basketball is forever a favorite for him!
And I loved this little selfie I found too... Sound of Music for the win for this little cutie!
We made it, settled in, played in the yard, with the neighbors, gave gifts, and sat on the patio for such a fun little dinner together! We loved it!!
The next morning, we were up and at'em with a big breakfast at home and then some backyard time...
We just adored their little play set, and it was so fun seeing all four of them out there playing!
We took off on a little adventure...
...because Lucy really wanted to show Jane "her rock wall"
Hahha the girls loved it and both did so well!
The boys did such a great job waiting and I know would have been up there on those rocks if they had just weighed a little more haha
But is it really an adventure without the dads getting in on it?! Hahaha we had fun cheering them on and loved watching them make it to the top!
A sweet afternoon for sure!
After that we drove this little family to....
Maman!! When I was teaching, a sweet student's mom gifted me the Maman cookbook, which we've gotten a few favorite recipes from...
So, when we were in New York at Christmastime two years ago, we had to go!!
And this time was just as much of a treat!
It's beautiful inside, and we loved getting to snap a pic with everyone outside of it too!
These two little besties just make me smile!
We went back to the house for some rest time, but that night, these two littles had a Daddy Daughter Dance with the dads! I wrote more about it here, but it was sure a special night!
Jane loved getting dressed up with Lucy...
And loved the night with Daddy too!!
The moms took the boys to the park...
And loved watching these littles play and just be boys!!
The next morning we went to church, out to lunch, came back to play, had some quick naps then couldn't believe it was time to say goodbye...
The most bittersweet little flight on the way home with it being most likely our last lap child flight with Andy, and the last time all four of us are in the same row... 😢 How did that happen so fast!!
Goodness, though, I love traveling with this one, whether on a flight with two littles or just us, I'm thankful to be doing it all with him! It took me back to our first time to DC back in 2020, which you can read about here. You can see all of our travel posts here

This was sure a fast, but fun little weekend getaway that we are so thankful for!! Thanks for following along and here's to always enjoying the little things, celebrating the big things, and soaking in all the moments in-between!

Sending lots of love!
