DC Trip - 2020

Good morning!! We're still in DC and loving our time with two (now three) of our favorites. ☺️ It's been the best weekend with family!!

I thought since we're here today, it could be fun to write a little post about our first trip to DC back in 2020. Logan and Jessy had just recently moved there and Pierce was working remote that summer, so we packed up and headed up there to see them that July. Because of the nature of that summer, all the sights were pretty empty, so we loved touring on our bikes and getting to see the city for the first time. 

Here are just some pics and memories from that trip!!

On that pretty July morning, we packed up and headed to the airport!!

We were giddy and loved getting to spend the afternoon in their new favorite place. 

We took a walk down to their farmers market and favorite coffee shop...it was such a pretty Saturday!!!

Then we walked just about half a block from their house and this beautiful view greeted us! 

it was just beautiful that night! 

We took about a million pictures with that beautiful sunset!!

And walked a few blocks away to the Supreme Court, which also had the most beautiful sky!! 

The next day, it was all bikes and sightseeing!! 

We had the best time flying around the city, looking at all the sights...it felt like we were on an 8th grade field trip, but with our best friends! 😂

We biked The National Mall, from the Capitol to the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial and ended at The White House.

Then to the White House and the subway back home!! So fun!!

We loved a low-key night that night down by the water. 

The next day everyone put in a little work during the day, and then we went out to dinner that night...

Pierce and I love anything on and by the water, so being there with some of our best friends made for just such a fun night!!

On the way home that night, we passed Georgetown Cupcake, and I had to jump out and get a picture to send to my sister. We used to watch this show when it first came out - two sisters starting a Cupcake shop. It was always a favorite of ours! 

We hopped on a plane the next day and said goodbye to this fun city... Two years later, we're back in DC with two little babies added to the mix. It's been a much more low-key trip this time 😂 But we've still loved it all the same!! 

We're soaking in the last few hours with our favorites and headed back home later today, so I'll see you back here tomorrow from Nashville!
