Snapshots from the Beach 2024

Happy Tuesday!! I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I thought today would be a fun day to share some snapshots from our trip to the beach a few weeks ago. My family has been going to the beach in the fall since I was little and now it is so fun to be able to bring Jane and Andy too!! This year, unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short due to Hurricane Helene, but we are thankful for the few wonderful days we had.

We are still keeping everyone affected from Hurricane Helene in our prayers and also now Hurricane Milton. I know it has been a hard few weeks for so many.

Here are just a few little snapshots from this year!! If you want to take a look at years past, you can find 2023 here and 2022 here

But without further ado, here is 2024.
The first time to the beach with this family of four! And we loved it!!
The kids did SO good in the car on the way down... Andy slept most of the way...Jane played and chatted and read lots of books... I gave her my old phone case 😂 a few months ago, and she wanted to bring her *phone* in her purse for the road-trip haha she was "texting" Nana and Papa... Haha For this road-trip, I invested in this little fidget-toy box from Target, and we LOVED it! We picked it up on the way out of town, and it was a huge hit! Also, these Beekeepers Naturals Lollipops were Jane's ever first lollipop, and she devoured them!! They are made with honey, and she just loved them! Lots of snacks and lots of stops, a few tears and many, many hours, and we made it there and back just a few days later... haha
It feels like quite the tradition to stop and see my sweet college roommate in Birmingham. We are just missing her sweet Grace in this picture! I think every fall so far, someone has added a little one! You can read a little more here about a trip they made to Nashville when their oldest was just one!! Sooo sweet!!
And we were just soo happy to make it to the beach!!
Can anyone believe this was two years ago?!
We were up bright and early the next morning and after the hours of getting sunscreen and swimsuits and snacks and toys and water 😉, we made it down to the sand!!
And it was a HIT!! I got Jane this new hat for this year, and it was perfect!!
This little one wore Jane's hat from our Belize Trip, and this adorable little swimsuit, which was perfect for when he was outside!
The first few days were just SO fun!!!
We played with this little one...
While this one slept...
And we loved every minute!!!
Naptime....
...and we relaxed outside for about 45 seconds until we heard one of the two hahaha it's just part of the game with a two year old and a newborn, but we'll still take these sweet days on the beach!!
Andy joined us...
And I got about four pages into my new Denise Hunter book and that was pretty much as far as I got the whole week... hahaha
We played during sunset...
Snapped a few family pictures...
And loved the night with my parents!
Little Andy and Nana 😍
Took a little selfie with this guy....we kept saying, if we're going to be exhausted keeping up with these littles, it's better to be exhausted on the beach 😉
Little Janie came over for one!!!
And we loved watching the sun go down over the water...sunset is hard to beat there!!
The next day was more of the same...the weather was just absolutely perfect, and the water was sooo calm. It was perfect for just floating and playing!!
Lots of snacks and lots of sand...this little one was just loving the beach!!!
And so was he!!
Took a little nap in the shade while we played...
And she cheered everyone on in corn hole and spike ball...
Sunset round two that night, and this little one loved it!! And time with Papa too!!
We took a little selfie!!
Andy fell asleep on my dad's shoulder...
Jane and I walked a bit...
Pierce and her played a bit...you can read a little more about this sweet picture here too...so sweet!!
And we just tried to soak in this beautiful night.... We ate dinner and played games and made plans for the next day or two for Hurricane Helene...
The sun came out the next day for just a little while, and Jane got to play a little more before we packed everything up...
Andy was loving the beach life too!!
Such a happy buddy!!
We are thankful he loved the beach!!
And thankful to my mom for passing her love for the beach down to two generations now!!
Jane loves her time with Nana!
We soaked up our last sunset!!
And took a little matching photo of Pierce throwing Andy...
It was the perfect sunset for our last night there!!
The next morning, Andy fell asleep with Papa again while we packed up the cars...
And said goodbye to the beach one last time...
And said goodbye to this sweet Cape San Blas....Until next time... We are thankful they didn't have too much damage, but are still trying to wrap our minds around all the destruction that came from Hurricane Helene...and now Milton too...We are keeping everyone in our thoughts and prayers...
And really just so thankful for the this little family of four and the sweet few days we had soaking in the sun and ocean air!!

Thanks for following along in this little journey and for this little beach trip! It's one of our very favorite things in the fall, and we are so grateful for my parents always inviting us to their "place." It's definitely becoming ours too... Here's to always enjoying the little things, celebrating the big things and soaking in all the moments in-between, even on vacation!!

I'll plan on being back here tomorrow!!
Sending lots of love!
