Happy Wednesday!! I thought it would be fun to share a little about our little Christmas "kick-off" weekend this past weekend. It's always a favorite, and here are just a few favorite little snapshots!!
This little one. Although he happily slept through the entire Christmas Village, when he woke up, he was all smiles - sporting his little Christmas tree sweatshirt - I say he could just sense the Christmas spirit 😉
Jane was just as excited - in her little reindeer leggings and...
And the most adorable little reindeer bow that we found while we were there...a sweet lady makes all the little "stackables," so you know I picked her up a few fun holiday ones!! 🦌
...a sweet little fact about Jane...she doesn't have many fears in life these days, but "deer" is definitely one of them. This past spring, someone picked her up quickly while we were with Pierce's family is TX to show her a deer and tell her to be quiet while pointing at it, and...the rest is history. I think it scared her for some reason to her core, and now, whenever we see them, especially at Papa and Nana's house, she has always said, "Deer no get me!!" She has had bad dreams, points them out in every book we read, and was very aware recently when my dad called to say they had run into a deer on a backroad late one night on their way home. Now when we say, "Jane, the deer are not going to get you..." She will reply with, "But they got Papa and Papa's car...." ....hahaha so, needless-to-say, it did not even occur to us, that this Christmas season, we might need to explain the difference in Christmas reindeer 😉
And so here we are...one bow and holiday cheer at a time 😂 seems to be going well so far haha
She strolled happily along with a "reindeer" on her bow all of Christmas Village hahaha
And I loved that this guy was content to pack us all up on a Saturday...
And stroll through many, many Christmas booths...
And I dare even say, had some fun along the way 😉😂
We had a little "Friendsgiving" that next day, which was so fun and special...and after everyone left, I went upstairs to put Jane down for her nap, and when I came back down, Pierce had already gotten "Christmas" down from the attic...
So Jane woke up to a little more Christmas that day ☺️
I couldn't help but break out my little "reindeer" slippers that I had seen on Shay's blog and had to snag for the season...
And I just *might* have splurged on getting Jane her own little pair, and Andy a little pair built in to some Christmas pjs... Pierce claims he did not want any 😉, so he is sporting his favorite, but we are conquering fears and soaking in the Christmas spirit over here, and couldn't have loved a little special weekend anymore...
And I am loving our newest little addition this year from Christmas Village...a little Christmas music box with "Jane and Andy" to kick-off all of the Christmas coziness...
It's definitely the most wonderful time of the year! And I'm still counting down to all the family time of Thanksgiving and all that comes with the season afterwards as well. Thanks for following along in this little journey and tiny little weekend of the year that always turns into a favorite!!
I'll plan on seeing you back here tomorrow!
Sending lots of love!

Oh. my. gosh. the deer story!!!! Ya know, I'm with her. Scott hit a deer in my car a couple months ago and it was a horrific time we had with getting it repaired and in a rental with 2 kids for 6 weeks. Scott swears if it was me driving, the car would be no longer ;) but we are definitely watching even more closely for deers in our family too - especially Millie who is very aware of how that deer hurt my car lol!!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha I love this so much, but also I'm so sorry that you guys got hit!!! It is so crazy how much damage they can do, and I can't imagine being in a rental for that long with two kids!! Hope you all stay safe on the road, especially now that it's getting dark so much earlier!! Hope the reindeer this Christmas season are able to lighten the memories a little for sure!! 🦌🎄✨
