Happy Monday, friends!!! I thought before January was over, it would be sweet to share some Christmas snapshots on here. We spent Christmas in Nashville with the four of us and then a few days in Louisville with my family, and it was a sweet blend for sure!! Here are just a few little snapshots and moments from those few days for your January Monday!!
Well, I made this the cover because it just makes me smile. I had gifted Pierce a deck of cards for Christmas 2022 with Jane's sweet little hand and finger on it playing the piano that we still use almost every time we play cards. And as Christmas 2024 was coming up, I thought it would be sweet to see if I could get both Jane and Andy's little hands on a new deck for him.
It sounds like a simple task, but it took some finagling to get all 20 little fingers in there, but sheesh, I love it so much and seeing how much Jane's little hands have grown and little Andy's hands on the piano too... It's a special little deck for our piano-loving Daddy and family for sure!! (We also have a piano-loving Nana in our family whom I'm thinking might need a deck of these cards now too! Hahaha)
We usually spend several of the days in-between Christmas and New Years at our house, taking it slow and easing into the New Year. This year though, we traveled to Jackson (more to come on that tomorrow), so we tried to make the most of the days leading up to Christmas...
And as crazy and chaotic as they may have felt, it's sweet looking back on a few of these little snapshots from those days... Jane's our creative little one and would paint, watercolor, draw, and cut truly all day long if she could (and honestly, most days, that's pretty much how she does spend her days hahaha)
But it was sweet to have her make a few little Christmas trees to hang up/gift for the season.
We spent several of those mornings cuddled up reading our Bibles and "devotionals." I was reading my Gracelaced Advent devotional that I love so much, Pierce was finishing up "To the Tenth Generation," which is a book we both read over break written by our founding pastor and his wife that we truly could not recommend enough, and Jane is flipping through the sweetest little Max Lucado "God Thinks You're Wonderful," which she loved because it had a "bookmark" like mine hahaha It was a "frame this moment" I truly had to snap a picture of!!
We made many, many little "candy cane" drinks as Jane called them throughout those days...
Andy wanted in on the action 😉 hahaha
Many of our days and mornings were spent truly like this...just chaotic joy and fun in this little home hahaha (Jane was wearing her "pink boots" that were insanely too small for her from last year almost daily *hoping* that she would get a new pair for Christmas hahaha
So she was truly delighted that morning over a new little pair of "pink boots" 😉 All of our sweet neighbors knew she had been talking about them, so they were eager for her to come show them her boots hahaha ...it's the little things 🥰😂
Two new little ornaments joined our tree this year! Jane was very excited about her "big sister" ornament....
And we felt like this was only appropriate for little Andy who came two weeks late, and truly felt like that "Do Not Open Until" sign was so perfect and true hahaha
We finished our "pizza and a show" nights for the season with the finale of Survivor... Jane would "watch" a few minutes with us every week before bed, so this truly became something the whole family would look forward to. My parents, sister and husband, and us all did a little "Survivor draft" going into the season, so we were all invested to see who would win...my dad currently has bragging rights until next season! Haha 😂
And Pierce was serving communion at our Christmas Eve service, which was such an honor, so we made our way there on Christmas Eve...
And Jane wore a beautiful Christmas dress that was sewn by her Great-Grandmother on Pierce's side...
...that his sister Kelsea wore when she was three!! I went to take a picture for his mom and could not believe that same green door!! Haha too sweet...
She loved it!
And we loved getting to remember Christ's birth in a such special and revered way on Christmas Eve!
I tried to snap a few pictures of these two when we got home that night...
Sweet little Andy!!
So thankful for these two, for sure!!
But maybe our favorite part of Christmastime that we added this year, was this little Jesse Tree devotional...We had it with a "treat" of some sort every night to remind us that "God's Word is sweeter than honey" as we were leading up to Jesus' birth...
And looking behind number "25" was the first thing she ran to do that morning...it was definitely a sweet little tradition that we hope to carry on, even if it changes a bit throughout the years. Seeing this girl absorb so much Scripture during those twenty-five days was truly such a sweet (and amazing!) part of the season!!
Andy sure loved that morning too...all the bows and shiny paper were truly. all that he needed hahaha
And this little one was truly at the sweetest age too of so much excitement and joy!! She keeps asking if it's "Christmastime" again, which makes me smile and am so thankful that this little one loves the season as much as we do too!!!
We packed up the car that day and headed to Louisville...
Where we had my sweet mom's special Christmas dinner that next night...
And where Jane opened truly two of her most beloved gifts...a pink scooter...
And boots to match Papa's!!!
This little one LOVES to walk in the woods and see the "waterfalls" with Papa, so her having boots to match his truly just made. her. day!!
She was one little happy camper for sure!!
This little one was too as he came on a few walks with us as we were closing in on our last few 100 miles...
He is just a sweet one to have around let me tell you...
And from laughing one minute....
...to sleeping the next 😂 He was a trooper with all the travel and different schedules for the week hahaha
And I loved watching this little one keep up with the "big kids."
She's our little explorer and social one for sure!!!
And any chance I can catch her still enough to steal a little snapshot with her, it always makes my day!!
She got to explore a little where I grew up exploring, and it was a sweet full-circle moment for sure...those boots are going to take her far in those woods I know it.
We gifted my dad a little matching Jacket to Pierce's for all the cold-winter days he's out working (and walking with Jane 😂)
And we loved our little "Christmas" walk through the woods... (Sweet Andy was taking a nap through this one haha)
...feels hard to believe all that has changed in just two years!!
But this little one...
...is still loving her rides on Daddy's shoulders just as much though two years later hahaha
It really was one special and sweet Christmas...
...as fun and chaotic as it might of felt as we were living it 😂
We are thankful!!
And there's no one else I would have rather spent all the crazy, fun, and full days with than these three!!! 🎄✨
Goodness, thanks for following along and thanks for taking a little trip back through Christmas on this cold January morning!!! I'll plan to be back here tomorrow with lots of snowy Jackson pics!!
