Fall This and That

Happy Tuesday!! Today I just have a little this and a little that for your sweet October fall morning! It's a random little assortment of all things fall on my mind...
Planting Mums.
Well, I love a pretty yellow mum. I think they are just HAPPY and FUN and so fall. We just got some this past weekend, but still need to add them to our front porch flower boxes...

The extra "things."
This year more than ever I think, our fall decor seems to be getting a little more "simple." A three year old and a fifteen month old seem to just attract "things" these days, so adding a ton of things to our house, even cute "fall things" seems to be a tad overwhelming to my brain hahaha so, we are adding some of our favorites, and giving ourselves permission to go a little more simple this October and November... As for Christmas, the jury is still out for those special "things." Hahaha

The Changing of a Season...
As much as I love fall, and all the seasons honestly, there is a little piece of me that's always sad to say goodbye to the season that's ending. I think it's the middle child, peacemaker in me, but change hasn't always been my favorite thing. I've come a long way in embracing it, seeing the good that comes from change, and oftentimes welcoming it more than I ever have, but with littles, there are a lot of seasons changing constantly, and the calendar season changing is an evident reminder that change is here. And a reminder that's it's good, even if the previous one was as well.

Fall Getaways...
Well, it's been two years and our weekend in Vermont is still just such a highlight for us. We rang in five years there as we soaked in all things "fall" and just loved every minute. We're trying to find something for the end of October this year, while still embracing and living in the season we're in with toddlers and babies.

Fall Crafts.
This time of year always makes me think of sweet FALL crafts. Goodness, as a teacher in elementary school, this time of year is just the best. I made a list of a few of my favorite fall crafts I used to do with my students here and a how to on creating your very own stick horses here as well here.

Two Favorite Soups
Well, there are a lot of "soups" on our list in the fall, but two of our favorites are this Tomato Tortellini Soup, which Jane always talks about "movie on the porch soup," and our Chicken Lime Soup. Both are just FALL to me, and we can't wait to make them. Add in our White Chicken Chili and regular Chili, with some sourdough loaves, and our dutch oven is at full capacity in the fall.

Fall Candles.
Fall is the season that a candle just feels perfectly nostalgic and like "home" to me. I am always on the search for a more "natural" candle that still "feels" that same way, and I still love these sweet Etsy shop candles. They are pure beeswax candles, and the scents are heavenly. I open a window, light the candle, turn on some Autumn Jazz, and even with toys everywhere and laughter and chatting (oftentimes mixed with little meltdowns😅), it still feels a little bit like heaven.

And there you have it...just a little bit of fall this and that for your Tuesday. We are in full speed ahead over here this October already and have family coming in town this weekend too, so I am going to try to make it back on here this week, but if I don't, I hope you are soaking in as much as this season as we are trying to as well!! October, you sure are a good one!

Thanks as always for following along and hope your Tuesday is filled with lots of simple "fall" joys.
Sending lots of love!
