Life Lately In Film - January Edition

Happy Tuesday friends!!! Today I thought I'd start a new little series on here called "Life Lately In Film." 

It will come as no surprise to anyone that I am a picture girl through and through. I love them. I always have, and I'm sure always will. I was the friend communicating via picture texts back with a flip phone and thinking the best errand as a child was going with my mom to get our "film" developed at the store. I will always love pictures so very much, but recently, especially with littles who are ever-changing, I have started to just adore videos just as much. SO much is captured on film. And as I've been in my "Frame This Moment" season, I have realized how much is truly framed in a little snapshot of a video. 

So, this month, I made it my goal to video a little more. And I wanted to try to put those somewhere where it would be sweet to remember, hence, Life Lately in Film. I don't know how often I'll have the time, capacity, or ability to put these together, but I have a feeling that when I do, we will forever treasure them. 

So today, welcome to the January 2026 Edition. Where we had many, many slow days at home, a 3 1/2 year old and a 18 turned 19 month old who are becoming the best of little friends before our very eyes, an ice-storm where we were without power for two days, a trip to Louisville in the snow, and lots of very favorite family time. 

It makes me smile going back through so many little snapshots and minutes in time, but there are a lot of minutes and hours and days in a month and a lot that isn't captured in these videos too. A lot of breakdowns, a lot of tears, a lot of messes, a lot of teaching moments, skipped naps and toddler moments, but remembering the good is a practice that I love. It helps me in the midst of the hard days remember the sweetness that comes along with this season. And so, I hope these will help remember the sweet and the good, but also the "real" that reminds us of our lived-in home with two littles - the papers that aren't put away, the garbage bags waiting to be taken out, the dishes in the sink, the clothes on the stairs, the forts, the crafts, the laundry...(so. much. laundry 😉), the toys and books and scooters and games. And also the laughter and the dancing and the verses and music and little rhythms that made January 2026 so special. 

So, without further-ado, here is the first Life Lately in Film - January Edition. ❤️
