Jackson Bound & A Trip Down Memory Lane

Happy Wednesday!!! Well, we are Jackson, WY bound over here as of tomorrow morning, and today I thought I'd share a little trip down memory lane as this will be our ninth trip out there in the last several years...
This was two Labor Day weekends ago, but somehow, it feels and seems much further than that. We're definitely looking forward to soaking in a little bit more of that mountain air!!

But for this memory lane of Jackson visits...we are going back to our first time out there... Pierce's parents bought a house summer of 2019 in hopes to make it a place for the family to gather, for them to be out there a majority of the year and potentially a place to make home in retirement...
And for Labor Day of 2019, Pierce and I had to go see it. I had just started teaching for the year, and Pierce was about to start his new job, and we flew out on Friday, had two and a half PACKED days of seeing Jackson and Yellowstone, flew back Monday night and knew we'd be back many more times. You can read a little bit more about that trip in a past "Best of Jackson" post I did here
Fast forward to summer 2020 and with teaching off for the summer and Pierce working virtually, we decided to pack up and spent 10 days out in the mountains. We hiked, paddle-boarded, I tutored, Pierce worked, and we really tried to make the most of it that summer.
A few months later, we found ourselves out there again for New Years, but this time with Pierce's brother and sister-in-law.
We snowboarded, they skiied, we snowmobiled, and we look back on that trip as one of our very, very favorites. You can find a little bit of that trip here in my January Favorites from 2021.
At the end of that next summer, we had some sweet news to share with his parents, so we flew out there the weekend before school started, carefully packed a re-labeled wine glass...
And shared the sweet news of little Baby Riddick on the way!!
A little over a year later, we flew with four month old Jane to celebrate Pierce's dad's 60th birthday. It was a sweet trip that you can read more about here
A little over a year after that, we flew with seventeen month old Jane and met up with the family for a little late fall Jackson trip. You can read more about 2023's trip here
Then the next Labor Day, we changed our original "no" to a "yes" to join the family in Jackson when little Andy was ten weeks old. It was a bit of a whirlwind, but we loved that crisp Wyoming air for sure and the chillness and sweetness that was "Baby Andy!!" You can read more about fall 2024 here
And then our last trip out there was New Years a few months later...
Little Andy was six months old, Jane was two and a half, and we made the most of it sledding and soaking in some cozy winter air! You can read more about that New Years trip here

And this year we are making our way out there for the ninth time, but this time we are staying in a new-to-us home that his parents' just moved into this summer. Their old house was amazing and absolutely perfect for the two of them, but now that the family has grown to 13, with five grandkids, they took advantage of a home for sale this summer that suits a family more, and we are excited to start a new chapter of memories. I think they have lots in store still to make it "home," but we are looking forward to having everyone in one place and all the cousins together for a few nights!

I'm going to take a few days off of blogging to enjoy the weekend, but I'll plan to be back here sometime late next week with some updates and snapshots of our trip out there.

Thanks as always for following along, and I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend!!!
Sending lots of love!
