2024 in Review

Well, it's official, I think this post might be my favorite post I do every year... I always forget about these posts, and then when it's time to write the next one, all the tears and the "Oh my goodness! Look at this!" "How was this already two years ago?!" quotes come from looking at past years... Time is just flying by, and I'm so thankful I have taken the time to write these ever year... So, even though we are already in February, here are just a few snapshots and highlights from each month... If you want to take a look back at other years, you can find them here: 2021, 2022, and 2023
But here we go for 2024...

JANUARY
January definitely started off with lots of walking! I made a goal to walk a mile a day in January, so Pierce and Jane bundled up with me lots of those cold, dreary days!!
And then our neighborhood started turning into a Winter Wonderland...
And we loved every minute!!
This girl had the best time sledding around our icy neighborhood roads!
We hit 20 weeks with little Baby Riddick #2!
And we loved getting to see little Baby Andy before we even knew boy or girl!!
And maybe just the sweetest part of the whole 40 weeks - Jane started carrying this little picture around in her purse that week...and would pull it out and look at it all the time...cue all the tears!
We loved celebrating Aunt Audrey's wedding at the end of that month!
A sweet January for sure!
And one final "mile a day" walk on January 31st...on our way to 100!

FEBRUARY
February came with lots of pink and red and snuggles from this little one!
Grocery trips with Mom!
And getting the power-walking down! I loved this little age SOOOO much oh my goodness...
Crafts...
Babies...
And so snuggly and playful! It was a sweet month indeed...

MARCH
March was a sweet one as we got to celebrate Aunt Kelsea's wedding in Texas!
Loved watching this sweet little flower girl that day.
And we couldn't believe it was Jane's last lap child flight!!
We had lots of normal days...tutoring...
Walking...
And soaking in time with this little trio...
We hit the third trimester and were counting down till June!
This little one started using the potty!!
And I loved finally finishing up Pierce's new "office" in a closet off of our bedroom...

APRIL

April came with this little girl turning TWO and starting to love tea, which I loved so much!
We had a sweet little birthday party for her with a few friends and family!
She's an easy one to celebrate!
Pierce and I got to go to a little marriage conference in Birmingham and snuck in a quick visit to my Alma mater!
And we loved getting to finish Jane's "big girl" room!!!
And at the end of the month, Pierce and I got to sneak in a little trip to Destin to celebrate his 30th birthday and little Baby Riddick coming a few weeks later! Take me back!!!

MAY
May came with lots of sweet celebrations!
From Pierce's birthday on the 9th!
To my birthday and Mother's Day on the 12th!!
Jane and I got to sneak in some fun spring and summer crafts!
And we just loved, loved, loved our days by the pool with this little one at the end of the month!
She was fearless and LOVING it!
And we were just soaking it all in!!

JUNE
And June can really only be summed up by this little one joining our family!
He sure made us wait for his arrival, but when he came, he came fast, and we couldn't be more grateful for him and June 19th!
Those sweet newborn snuggles!
And maybe everyone's favorite thing ever, sweet Jane meeting little Andy!
By far the most read post on my blog this past year - little Andy joining us and the sweet videos of Jane hugging him when he was just 12 hours old! "He smiled!!" is a quote we use often around here in our family. You can find that sweet little memory and snapshot here
Andy, we loved those first few weeks with you!!

JULY
July was full of us loving on this little Andy...
We loved soaking in Daddy's few weeks off!
And then I started braving some outings with two...
Jane had lots and lots of mornings spent on the porch painting...
And we had lots of late nights snuggling this little one...
That little newborn face...goodness, take me back already.
Lots of little family hangs...
Jane found her favorite hobby of reading to Andy...
And I loved my afternoon nap times...

AUGUST
August came with a little dinner out with this guy...
And getting this little guy in the pool for the first time...
Jane was still loving her pool days...
And just loving her little hobby of reading to Andy...
And we completed our 2nd Annual Titans 5k that month!

SEPTEMBER
September came with a trip to Jackson with Pierce's family!
Andy and Cooper got to meet and hang for the first time!!
And Lucy and Jane were living their best life with snacks by the water!
I loved this trip with this little fam so much!
Later that month, Pierce and I went to a dinner out with his work...
And then we got to sneak in a little trip to the beach and enjoy a few days before the Hurricanes made their way in...
We loved that trip so much!!
And so did little Andy!

OCTOBER
October came with sending this little cutie off to her first day at Mother's Day Out...
Cue all the tears...
But she loved it, and we were so excited for her!!!
We took a trip to our favorite Jackson's Orchard...
And loved getting to spend some fall weekends in Louisville...
I loved afternoons with this little cutie...
And we loved watching this little one's personality start coming to life!
We loved getting to watch some fall movies on the porch...
And Pierce and I got to sneak away on a tiny Anniversary trip to celebrate six years!
And ending the month dressed up with these three was a fun little treat!

NOVEMBER
November came with lots of family time at home, enjoying the fall, and welcoming in the start of Christmas...
We snuggled up a lot...
Tried to enjoy the little moments...
And thank the Lord often for these two littles...
We loved our home in the fall....
Made our first "Thankful Turkey" ...that lived with us until January hahaha
And we all loved our weekend at Christmas Village!! 🎄
We had the best Thanksgiving with my family...
And loved that little month of November even with a little sickness and a lot of long days mixed in...

DECEMBER
The month of December was basically spent in this little cozy space...
We watched lots of movies and sat by the fire...
And soaked in lots of Christmas snuggles...
We wore Christmas pajamas...
And cozy Christmas socks...
And even snuck out to a little Christmas parade!
Pierce and I got to enjoy a little Christmas work party of his...
And I loved watching this one enjoy all things Christmas this year!!
We enjoyed our Christmas Eve and Christmas at home...
Then we finished out the year with one big trip to Louisville and then Jackson with this family of four!!

Goodness...it's hard to even recount all the many, many blessings that we've experienced over the last twelve months... The Lord has been so kind to us in so many ways, and we've grown closer to Him in so many ways through so much good and so much hard... I'm thankful for a moment just to reflect on all that 2024 held. Thanks as always for following along in this journey... This blog has become such a special place, and I'm grateful to be able to share a few of the little and simple moments throughout our year! I pray your 2024 held many blessings of your own as you look back and that your 2025 is off to a great start as well!!

Here's to enjoying the little things, celebrating the big things, and soaking in all the moments in-between!!

Sending so much love!!

  1. My favorite pictures are the ones of Pierce tossing the babies in the air at sunset. You are an amazing photographer with an eye for the beauty of small things in life. I hope you framed those two photos for your home. Definitely keepers!
