Happy Wednesday!!! Well here we are in the middle of April, and I'm just getting a chance to share a few pictures from our vacation with Pierce's family at the end of last month. It was such a fun and special week, and we're still wishing we were sailing on the Caribbean Sea!!
Pierce and his family took this trip when they were in high school and college, and they have always talked about going back, so this was in celebration of his mom's 60th birthday and a 10 year anniversary of the last time they were there! I was so glad to be a part of it this time around, and Jane had such a blast too!!
We went with Belize Sailing Vacations, and they were amazing!!! There were seven of us, two babies, and three crew members on a catamaran for six days and they handled the week so well. I'll share a little about our days as I share pictures, but if you've ever thought about a sailing vacation, I can't recommend it enough!!!

On Thursday, the three of us packed up, made our way to the airport and headed to Houston to spend the afternoon and night with some dear friends from Texas.
Then the next morning, we met up with the Riddick fam in the Houston airport heading to Belize!!
By the way, this is my go-to traveling outfit...
From Cancun two summer ago...
To our honeymoon five years ago...
And even a summer trip to Texas a few summers ago, it is just perfect. I can't recommend a simple black romper enough! Mine is a linen one from Old Navy, and I have worn it too many times to count!!
After a sweet plane ride with family, we made it to Belize!!
Sweet little Jane got her first passport stamp!! It was set up and ready to celebrate a birthday and host a family for the week!
Jane spent some time exploring before lunch and was in heaven pretty much immediately!
Sweet Aunt Jessy brought the girls matching outfits for that first day - seriously so cute and so thoughtful!!!
Jane's balance took on a whole new level this week with all the waves and balancing while the boat was moving, but when we got back to land, she was ON IT with the walking.
She really did acclimate to island life pretty quickly 😂
We played in the ocean that night a bit before bed!
Love this little family of three!!!
And Jane was out like a light that night before we even ate dinner - from traveling, sunshine, people, and the boating life, she was one tired little one!!
Most mornings started early and this social little one LOVED waking up to a million people smiling at her and wanting to hold her..
The most fun!
I'm telling you...the boat life was for her hahahha
Her sweet cousin Lucy loved it too, and we loved getting to hang with her!!!
The first day, they took us to this small and quaint little island, and I think it might have been everyone's favorite day!
Hard to beat a place like this to spend the afternoon!!
The babies napped for a bit while we snorkeled and enjoyed the sunshine (read - got incredibly scorched hahaha)
But this little one got to get off and experience the crystal blue waters too!!
And she was loving it - that grin!! Hahaha
Her cousin Lucy was too!! I think these girls could have been out there forever!!!
And I think we could have gotten used to island life for days on end...
The next few days, we explored different parts of Belize, kayaked, snorkeled, paddle-boarded and just really soaked up all the sunshine and family time. And I loved seeing this girl loving it all!!
She was definitely in her element!!
We also loved hanging with these two!!
Watching these two with their baby girls is just so sweet!!
Jane was loving matching Dad and taking in all the sites!! Hahaha
Pierce and I were loving the evening paddle boarding!!
And the afternoons while Jane napped!!
But being with his family was such a sweet part of the trip!!!
And getting time with this little family was just as sweet too!!!
Especially watching this little one explore and see and do and try new things!!!
We especially loved getting to celebrate Stacy and the blessing she is to the family!!
Those six days on this little boat held so many special memories that we'll always treasure!! We loved every minute and were so thankful to get to experience such an amazing trip!!
Thanks for following along in this little journey!! This spring has been a busy one, but a good one!!
I'll plan on being back here tomorrow!!
Blessings,
Blessings,

I’ve never even heard of a sailing vacation… how special and fun! Your pics are making me reallyyyy want to go to a tropical destination!! -Jennifer
ReplyDeleteI hadn’t either!!! Such a different kind of vacation, but it really was so special and fun!! And goodness, yes!! Looking back through these had me missing that sun and water big time!!
DeleteI'm so intrigued by this trip! I have never heard of this type of trip, also how you guys all fit (LOL) and not keeping the babies in lifejackets the whole time on the boat?! I'm so interested lol!! Looks really amazing - and I've been waiting to see where you guys went since you took the time off ha!
ReplyDeleteHahaha!! I had so many questions too 😂 There were six small cabins under the catamaran (a bed and a small bathroom) where we all stayed. It WAS pretty amazing that all of us fit and slept on that boat! Hahaha But yes!! The babies had so many eyes on them, and we usually blocked off all exits on the boats with coolers so they could scoot around a little. I think it would have been a tad bit more challenging if Jane had been full on walking. But goodness, it was a sweet trip and such an adventure!!! If you like sailing, it really is such a fun way to experience it!!!
DeleteOh my gosh -- now I want to check out a sailing vacation. This looks like THE BEST!!!
