DC Trip - 2022 [Part Two]

It's Thursday!! One of my favorite days of the week. Mainly I think because when Pierce and I were dating long distance, we always carved out Thursday nights as our "date night." We would FaceTime and watch a movie, cook a meal, play a game, or just do something fun and creative for the night that made us feel like we were "together." Fast forward six years and we are still loving our Thursdays..most times these days we just have a little four month old with us as well  πŸ˜‚

Nevertheless, here we are on a Thursday, and we are still dreaming about these sweet few days in DC! If you missed the few pictures from Jane's first plane ride and meeting her sweet cousin, you can read about that here, but hope you enjoy reading about the last few days of our trip!!
This is just one of my favorite pictures from the week...the place, the people, the shark....Jane's headπŸ˜‚ Just captured all the best things in one picture. ❤️
The last few days of our trip were really just spent enjoying family...Jane was greeted by her sweet grandparents when she woke up ☺️
And we took plenty of walks!! They helped me reach my 40 mile goal on that last day of July!!
Love this guy! And we so enjoyed exploring a new city on foot...I think we walked to almost every place we ate while we were there.
One of the small highlights for me was Pierce making Jane laugh every night before she went to sleep...truly just the sweetest. πŸ₯°❤️
And speaking of highlights and sweetest...our little niece Lucy Ruth...we love her so much!!! It was the sweetest getting to meet her and hold her that week πŸ’•
This next one is a sweet one because Pierce's family moved from Texas to Virginia when Pierce was little and lived there until his first grade year. He talks about the sweet house that he grew up in often and all the memories that it held, and while we were out there we got to take a special trip to see it. It was the sweetest getting to see their family (we missed you, Kelsea) outside his sweet childhood house.
So crazy to think that this guy is now old enough to have a house that HIS kids will remember growing up in...what a sweet thing to think about! LOVED getting to walk down memory lane with him that day❤️
After memory lane, we had to make a stop at a fun cupcake shop at Georgetown Cupcakes. My sister and I used to love watching these two sisters on DC Cupcakes when we were younger!!
Last time we were in DC, they had already closed for the day, so it was so fun getting to stop and actually grab a cupcake! However....
.......after our day of walking and frenzy of getting to the airport and through security...we opened it up to find this...πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦πŸΌ‍♀️ hahahah we laughed so hard. We still ate them though and love every one!!! So good! 🧁
Speaking of being so good....we loved their favorite little Acai bowl place. Their Nutella bowls were just so fun, and we've been trying to recreate them since we've been home!! Yum!!
After some sweet days together and lots of walking and exploring, we grabbed one last pic before we headed to the airport...
One last pic with two of our favorites...we can't believe we get to be in this fun season together!!! 😍
They snapped a pic of our hilarious frenzy with so many bags trying to get to securityπŸ˜‚ We learned a lot that trip....but had so much fun in the process, which hey, it's what it's all about right?! πŸ₯°πŸ˜‚
Boarded and Jane was fast asleep...
When she wasn't sleeping....this was her hahaha she just LOVED looking out the window...πŸ˜‚
We eventually made it back to Nashville, grabbed all of our bags, Pierce got the car and I'd say that's a wrap! We were so thankful everything went so smoothly and were so proud of sweet Jane for being such a great trooper through a few long days!! We just love that we got to visit some of our favorite people and meet sweet Lucy. A trip for the books for sure!!

Until our next travel day...
