Happy Monday!! I hope everyone had such a fun weekend!! In honor of Valentine's Day tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to post a few of our favorite date ideas that we've done! Pierce and I went on our first date July 2016, so we're coming up on seven years...
I just picked a few that came to my memory, even though the majority of our dates have probably been spent with some combination of cards, hot tea, and just simply spending time together chatting or reading. But here a few fun ones!!
The first one that came to my mind was a few weeks after I had moved to Nashville. I was living with a sweet friend in a little house and Pierce surprised me one night by stringing up Italy lights and setting up our tiny patio for a little painting night...
It is such a fun memory, and we both still have the canvases we made for each other in our house six years later...
Speaking of painting, in 2021 we loved a night out at Painting with a Twist. It was too fun to follow an instructor and create a beach scene that was totally out of both of our comfort zones haha I wrote a little bit more about it here. But it was a really sweet night!
The empty canvases that awaited us that night!
Sailing will always be one of our favorite summertime dates! We loved taking advantage of free sailing lessons that a boating club in Nashville offered. The most fun!!
Bowling for these babies is also a fun memory to look back on... I feel like bowling is just a fun night out whether it's a date or just with friends and family!
The summer before we got married also held a lot of date afternoons at the park playing tennis! We still love when we can hit around for sure. Jane has watched us a time or two from her stroller even... 😂
Coffee shop dates are some of our very favorite...we even tried to continue them with a little one sleeping in the carseat after Jane was born...
I did a whole post on some of our favorite coffee shops and orders here.
Sur La Table was a fun one just this past fall! We had a sweet friend watch Jane for the night and headed out for a cooking lesson and class, which was such a fun experience!
I wrote a little bit more about that night here.
And we really love just going out to dinner too...good food, a little night out... a simple and classic date that is always a fun one!
A very, very favorite date place for us is the drive-in. There is one about 45 minutes away, and we have gone more times than we can count. We've gone in almost all seasons, and it's always one of our favorite nights.
We used to fill Pierce's truck-bed with a blankets, pillow, and couch cushions...
And this past summer, we even took tiny little Jane with us and sat in the back of our Volvo. Just really one of our favorite places to be!
Speaking of one of our favorite places to be...
Give us a whole week, a weekend, or even an afternoon at the beach, and we'll be happy!
But really, like I said, most of our favorite date nights happen right here on this couch and in this home...cozied up, hot tea, reading, and this past summer, our sweet little Jane. There is really nothing better that could top it.
I'm sure there are a million more little dates we've been on, but those were a few date nights that came to mind. Where are your favorite places to go or explore on date nights?! We'd love to know! We're always looking for new and fun ideas!!
Thanks for following along and here's to wishing everyone such a fun and sweet Valentine's Day tomorrow!!
